At the beginning of the school year I wanted to try out a sport-related activity as it is something I had not done for a very long time. In previous occasions I used to pick Creativity related activities, so for a change I wanted to give myself a challenge at trying out an activity I've never been keen on before. Also, I had just come back from summer holidays and I realized that taking sports extracurriculars would be a good idea to get fit for my daily P.E. lessons and for my own benefit. This is why I decided to pick the Fitness extracurriculars in order to increase my commitment, determination and open mind attitude to new activities.

During the first few weeks, the extracurricular was mainly about improving our resistance on doing a circuit of 11 different exercises on a loop for 30 seconds each and trying to increase the amount of rounds we could do in one hour as to increase our resistance. During these classes we had to jog around the track, do anaerobic exercises and time each other as we completed each activity. After the mid-term of the activity, we began to increase the speed at which we would do the exercises and also we began working on muscle strength with push ups, weigh lifting and boxing. Every time we increased the rate at which we would do these exercises per lesson, always taking care to stretch properly during the last 5 minutes of the sessions as to relax after the exercises. 

I learnt many useful things I can apply to my daily life and future exercising and I also gained a lot of determination and commitment to my own fitness and health as well as giving myself challenges willingly to improve myself. Also, this activity helped me by giving me a new opinion about exercising, as before it wasn't something I was too keen on, so this is why I now want to apply my knowledge to practising sports in and outside of normal classes.
